Finance overview
Costing, budgets, and the general ledger — a coordination layer over payroll and projects.
Finance is a coordination layer: it reads payroll actuals and approved project time to produce cost reports and budgets, and owns the general ledger. It links to other modules but never writes to them.
Go to App → Finance. The Finance area is visible to Payroll Admin, HR Admin, Tenant Owner/Admin, Auditor, and Managers (scoped to their departments).
Cost reports
Labour cost by department, project costing from approved time, and CSV export.
Budgets
Set labour budgets by scope, then track budget vs actual variance.
General ledger
Double-entry accounts, journal entries, reversals, payroll posting, and opening balances. Requires Setup — no end-user screen yet.
Guardrail
Finance reads payroll and project records. It never writes to them. Cost reports are read models; budget entries don't affect payroll calculations; GL payroll postings are derived from confirmed payslips, not the other way round.
