Device setup
How admins bring a time-attendance terminal online in Heimdallone — registering the device, the on-site agent, and where to manage punches.
This page is the admin overview for getting a biometric / time-attendance terminal working with Heimdallone. The full how-to lives on Biometric devices.
The two parts
Secrets stay on the on-site agent
The ingest key and any device password live in the on-site agent's local configuration only — never in shared documents, tickets, or the app. If a key is lost, rotate it on the device screen and update the agent.
After it's connected
- Confirm a recent successful last sync on the device.
- Map any unmatched punches to employees so their hours are attributed correctly.
- Punches flow into Attendance, are validated, and (once approved) feed payroll.
What to check
- The device is active and shows a recent sync.
- Every clocking employee has a device-user mapping.
- The unmatched punches queue is clear.
Where this fits at go-live
The device is usually registered during the go-live window — see Go-live readiness.
